No need to pull out your physical wallet at checkout. With Google Pay, you can pay quickly and easily using your phone, smartwatch or fitness tracker. No more cards or cash to carry – Google Wallet can store your ANZ debit or credit cards and other cards like your loyalty cards too – what a package!

Yep, that’s right. Google Pay has industry-leading security built in to protect your payments. Your payment method is stored securely on Google’s private servers and every time you pay online, Google Pay encrypts your data so your payment details stay safe. Your card number is never shared with merchants and your personal information won’t be sold to third parties.

 

Round-the-clock service

Even if you lose your phone, Google’s got you covered. Use Google Find My Device to lock your phone, log out of your Google account or delete your data. And if you report your card as lost or stolen, we've got you covered. Your replacement card will automatically update in your Google Wallet. What do you need
to get started with Google Pay?

Good question. Let’s dive in. Pay for whatever you want, whenever you want. All you need is:

  • An Android phone (and, if you have one, a compatible wearable device) 
  • A Google account (you already have a Google account if you log in to Gmail, YouTube or Google Ads)
  • An eligible ANZ debit or credit card

How do you set up Google Pay?

Add your ANZ debit card, credit card, or both to your Google Wallet. You can add multiple cards to your Google Wallet and set a default card for mobile payments too. Don’t forget to add your other cards like rewards and loyalty cards, so you don’t miss out on points.

How do you use
Google Pay?

In-store

  • Pay with your phone: Wake your phone and hold it over the payment terminal. Your payment’s gone through once you see a tick on your phone.

  • Pay with your wearable device: Open the Google Wallet app and hover your device over the contactless payment reader until you hear a beep or feel vibrations from your device, indicating that payment’s been made.

It only takes a few minutes to get up and running with Google Pay. All you need to do is add your eligible ANZ debit card, credit card, or both to your Google Wallet.  Take a look through our instructions

Pay in stores or on transit

  1. Wake up your phone.
  2. Hold the back of your phone close to the terminal for a few seconds.
  3. Follow the instructions on the reader’s screen.
